This is the room every guest walks into: a circle of couches under a glowing ring, wrapped in screens casting the camera blimps' view of the grounds in real time. Give it a spin.

And it plays both ways: the same band of screens wraps the outside of the hull, so the crowd on the grass watches the exact view the guests inside are flying through. The ship is a show even for people who never board.

The Concept

A flight that never leaves the ground.

Airship Simulator is a walk-in installation - a full-size airship parked on the festival grass. Guests step into its glass base, where a 360-degree ring of screens shows the festival from above - crowds moving like rivers of light, stages pulsing, campsites spreading into the desert. The ship never lifts off; the room convinces you it did.

Above the field, small camera blimps fly the real thing. Their live feeds wrap the cabin, so what guests see on the screens is happening overhead right now - not a video to watch, a flight to inhabit.

What the capacity numbers assume

The projected 600–1,200 guests per hour assumes 150–200 guests per flight on an 8–12 minute cycle that includes boarding and reset, sustained across the operating window. Weekend projections assume roughly 70% operational uptime across a 12-hour show day over a three-day festival. Counts are total boardings, not unique guests. All of it is a model until feasibility engineering sets the real cycle - which is the point of the next phase.

The festival engages the installation as marquee infrastructure - a flagship attraction in the site plan, priced as a production line item.

Sponsor-funded

A title sponsor underwrites the build in exchange for the naming, livery, and content inventory below - the festival hosts, the brand flies it.

What “founding partner” means here

A major outdoor music festival on open grounds, plus the production and sponsor partners to build with. The founding festival contributes site knowledge, operational integration, and co-funded feasibility engineering; in return it gets first-season exclusivity, a voice in the final spec, and the debut of a landmark only it has. Every screen and readout on board is live theater. Guests don't watch the festival - they monitor it, tracking crowd rivers, stage signals, and emotional weather from 1,240 simulated feet above the polo field.

The Feeling

Two hundred people, one lift-off.

You board with strangers and lift off with a crew. The cabin hums, the lights drop to instrument glow, and for a ten-minute flight the people around you are half the show - every gasp, every pointed finger, every phone raised at the same moment.

Inside, it feels like the floor lets go - a slow, giddy lift with two hundred strangers, the crowd below turning into rivers of light.

    The hush

    The doors seal and the engine hum settles into the floor. The cabin light dims to amber, and conversation drops to a whisper on its own.

  2. 02

    The lift

    The screens rise together and the field falls away. Everyone reaches for the rail at the same moment - the stomach flip feels real, even when you know it isn't.

  3. 03

    The pointing

    Halfway up, the pointing starts. Your campsite. The wheel. The stage you just left. Two hundred people mapping their weekend from a thousand feet.

    The return

    The grass rises to meet you, the doors open, and the group that boarded as strangers walks out comparing photos.

Straight answers

The questions producers ask first.

01Does it actually fly?

No - and that's the point. The ship is designed to stay moored to the grass for the entire festival, with the wraparound screens, sound, and light doing the flying: the thrill of the view, designed to sidestep the risk, weather dependency, and certification burden of real flight. Final approach is subject to safety and venue review.

02Is the footage on the screens real?

That's the design: small tethered camera blimps above the grounds cast their view to the cabin live, so guests watch their own festival from above - not a pre-rendered video. When winds ground the fleet, the show is designed to continue seamlessly on captured aerial footage. Aerial operation is subject to venue, safety, and aviation approval.

03How many guests can board?

The target is 150-200 guests per 8-12 minute flight - roughly a thousand guests an hour at full pace. Final numbers come out of engineering and venue safety review.

04Is it accessible?

Designed for step-free, ground-level boarding: no stairs and no harnesses, targeting access for nearly every guest. The structure itself never moves - the sense of lift is made entirely by the screens - so the flight is gentle by default. Accessibility provisions are finalized in engineering and venue review.

05What about heat, wind, and rain?

The cabin is an enclosed, shaded room that never leaves the ground, designed so weather rarely stops the show. High winds only ground the camera fleet - the screens switch to captured footage until it's back overhead. Operating windows are set with venue safety.
