The idea & the people

A different way to experience the world below.

Airship Simulator is an independent concept by Joshua Logan: a festival pavilion that uses panoramic media to create the feeling of shared flight while the room stays on the ground.

The Concept

A flight that never leaves the ground.

Airship Simulator is a walk-in installation - a full-size airship parked on the festival grass. Guests step into its glass base, where a 360-degree ring of screens shows the festival from above - crowds moving like rivers of light, stages pulsing, campsites spreading into the desert. The ship never lifts off; the room convinces you it did.

The proposed live version uses approved aerial cameras to bring the surrounding festival into the cabin. A first guest study can use licensed recorded imagery; live capture, stabilization, transmission, and synchronized panoramic playback need separate validation.

Curved panoramic screens

A seamless wraparound view of the festival from above, drifting from dusk to midnight.

The Flight Deck

Instrument panels, flight maps, and live mission data guests can lean over and read like a flight crew.

03

Immersive sound

Low engine hum, wind layers, and distant stage bleed, mixed in real time around the cabin.

04

Built to be photographed

Film grain, bokeh, and warm cockpit light. Every angle is a shareable shot.
